Santa Claus Parade

Archives

The sun was shining, the air was crisp, and the children, young and old, waited with anticipation to greet jolly ol' Saint Nick. The Santa Claus Parade was met by huge crowds of welcoming Pickering families on Nov. 12, 2011. This year was the best ever with many more floats, bands, clowns and lots of candy. Pickering East Shore Community Association took part in this event for the first time. Keith Falconer, President of PESCA, and Bill Evely, Vice-President PESCA, escorted Mickey Mouse in his Santa suit along the route with Treasurer Mark Klienfelder and Secretary Margaret Wilken leading the way on the float. Other members, Lori Crosby, Program Director, and Debra Amos and Cathy Bassett, Directors, handed out candy to the children. Husbands, wives, children, nieces and nephews of executive members assisted in making this event a huge success. Everyone agreed that they enjoyed every minute of it; and plan to participate again next year.
